New Milestone : MCTS Web(70-528)

Hi there, Whomsoever who keeps visiting my blog regularly i have a great news to share with you all…I have cleared MCTS – WEB 70-528 last week[Monday 22-June-2009] with 965/1000. Certificate is hanged on here:MCTS-Web

It has been really a great journey to achieve this. I purchased self placed training kit book while i was @ Baroda then i have been moved to Bangalore for work assignment and there i didn’t got time to clear it as busy schedule :). Now i am back to Baroda and i firmly decided to give in June[I decided on 15th June but because of deadline @ work it got delayed on 22nd].

If you are not clear about Microsoft certification and have some FAQ’s that how it will benefited to you and stuff like that then please go and visit :

I would love to see if some one come up with the similar path image for MCPD on Microsoft Visual Studio 2008…Would you like to do it for me? yes you..

So the picture given above might clear your picture regarding certification :)[I had penned down it on my own so correct me if i missed something]

So choose any certification exam[I suggest to start you can start with 70-536 – I call it “Entrance exam” as it opens so many doors if you give just one exam – And it is valid/required for MS VS 2008 exam also 🙂 purchase a book for the same/download the PDF from Web and start reading it..

Read the book twice and register your self at your nearest prometric center to give an exam..

Basic exam rules:

Total Questions : 45

Total time : 150 Minutes

Minimum Passing Score : 700

What Certificate i get if i give any exam? What does it stands for?

MCP = Microsoft Certified Professional

MCTS = Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist

MCPD = Microsoft Certified Professional Developer

MCP = 70-536/Any first exam you give

MCTS = 70-536 + 70-526/70-528/70-529

MCPD = MCTS + 70-548/70-547/70-549

Certification I hold currently

      I am not sure about sharepoint exams — But for Vadodara i know two prometric centers–

      I have given exam from #1. OR you can go to http://www.prometric.com/default.htm

    Could you please tell me if there exists any Training Centres in Baroda providing Guerilla (crash) course for MCTS Certification for about, say 2-3 months and then soon after I can appear for the MCTS exam?

      As such i don’t know there is any training centers in Baroda which runs this type of course.[And i guess we don’t have it in Baroda]. But if you buy a book and start preparing on your self you can clear it..

      May be in future i’m thinking to start one center @ Baroda, Will update you once i start it 🙂

    Thanks for your response.

    I’m a Professional cross-breeded(!) from Java Platform to .NET Framework hence seeking a recognition in .NET Platform.

    I’m currently working as Computer Scientist in Cambridge University but recently had a thought of taking a break for about a quarter of an year and coming back home for some more training. Clearly not a lot of options in Baroda!

    Thanks anyways for your advice. Please do let me know if you come across any such Centres providing Guerilla courses for certifications.

      There is no any requirement required as per my knowledge and to apply for the exam you just need to go to nearest
      prometric center pay them exam fees 50$ and register yourself.

    I do want to know about the benifits of these particular certification 70-526 in getting job…I mean will it help me getting a good payee job?? please tell me the reality and ur experience.       Thanks for the nice words!

      Benefits are 100% of this exam. Because if i share my personal experience then wherever i apply interviewer sees me as a different candidate than others. In between they discuss “This guy is Microsoft Certified”. So, obviously it helps a lot. In today’s market where too much competition is there you should have something which makes you unique. Which pulls you out from the crowd 🙂

      If you have certificate in hand then you want get everything. Finally they want the knowledge. They expect more from you as a certified professional. So, you should be ready to answer all of the questions which will be shooted to you 🙂

      Because anyone can easily get certificates by preparing from Dumps. But Knowledge is the thing which industry is strive for 🙂

      And if you read the books for each exam note my words it will really help to do your day to day work efficiently.

      So Knowledge automatically pulls the money. Because As i believe “Knowledge is magnet for everything you want”

      Sorry but i can’t understand this line “I want also to know that what you are doing if u want to answer.” — Can you pls make it clear for me?

      Sure, you can give 70-526 without 70-536. But you will not be known as “MCTS-Web” you will be known as “MCP”. And you won’t get any hard copy certificate from Microsoft. They give certificate only when you got “MCTS”. So, there is no any rule you can first give 70-526 and then 70-536.

      Sure, you can give 70-526 without 70-536. But you will not be known as “MCTS-Web” you will be known as “MCP”. And you won’t get any hard copy certificate from Microsoft. They give certificate only when you got “MCTS”. So, there is no any rule you can first give 70-526 and then 70-536.

      Thanks for nice words!

      Yes, you can but you will not get “MCTS” Certificate until and unless you have cleared 70-536+70-528 [In Any order].

      Dumps is not the correct way to give the exam. First of all you need to read the book and have a concepts through.

      And once you are ready i will share the dumps which i have with me. Just post a comment with your email-id and exam code.

      Sorry to be strict but this is the right way to get the certificate.

      Yes, you can. Just give 70-528 exam and you are MCTS!

    Great to hear that you have cleared MCTS. I am from Baroda and working . I want to give 70-528 . I have read Microsoft Press book on 70-528 which is pretty good. Also Amit Kalani’s book is supposed to be good but it is not available anywhere. Can you help me with the latest dumps ?

    Hey Kiran,
    First of all many-many congratulations to u for getting Microsoft Certifications.

    I want to know whether i will get the certificate if i clear the first exam. say 70-528. Do Microsoft give us the soft copy after this exam or not?

    The other question in my mind is. what if want to jump from web 2.0 to web 3.5 framework. Do u have to again start up with the certs for 3.5?

      Thanks a lot!

      Yeap, you will get soft copy of your certificate as soon as you clear your first exam. Basically you will get MCP ID and you will get your MCP Portal login. Here you can manage your Certificates, Logos etc. But pls note that you won’t be able to order hard copy untill and unless you have cleared both exams.

      For upgradation[From 2.0 to 3.5] you have to give upgradation exam : see this

      Upgrade from MCPD on Visual Studio 2005 to MCPD on Visual Studio 2008

    Congratulation for your MCTS cetification. I am from Baroda and working in ASP.NET for last 2.5 years and have been preparing for MCTS for last 4 months. I have almost completed Microsoft Press books for 70-536 and 70-528. I am planning to appear in next month. Can you please send latest dumps of 70-536 and 70-528?

      Your Queries answer:
      1. You can register before one day and give exam on second day. But it’s better you confirm your seat before one week. And your registration voucher is valid for 6 months. Pls get it clear from your prometric center.

      2. Yeap — Dumps helps you in exam. But only dumps will not help you in real life. Real Knowledge + Dumps can give you real success!

    Thank you for the dumps. Two prometric centers in baroda are closed for technical reasons. They are not sure when it will reopen. Can you please let me know any center nearest to baroda. My office is from Monday to Saturday. So I can not go to Ahmedabad.

    I think answesr should be The ConfigurationSaveMode.Minimal instead of ConfigurationSaveMode.Modified.
    As per question,ConfigurationSaveMode.Minimal writes only the values that differ from the inherited values.

      Yes, it is true. But it will not happen in near future. As per Microsoft rule whenever they will officially declare that they don’t support[.NET FW 2.0] anymore from that day it will be expired. But as per my knowledge it will not happen in nearest future. And as per my knowledge 70-536 exam will not expire because all current/upcoming .NET FWs are based on it only. So how can they expire base 🙂 Read this link :

    Congrats dude for passing MCTS exams. Currently Im preparing for MCTS-70528.Is it mandatory to pass MCTS-70536 with MCTS-70528 to get MCTS certification. What certification/certificate do i will get if i only apply and pass MCTS-70528?. Also im using MCTS-70528 training kit book by Glenn Johnson & Tony Northrup for preparation of MCTS-70528 exam.Is this book is sufficient??.Else if you have another publication book for MCTS-70528 then please reply me. Please reply all my above mentioned queries soon.

      yes it is Mandatory to pass 536 + 528 to get MCTS Certification else if you give 528 only then you will get MCP only. I have already written formula in my blog :
      MCP = 70-536/Any first exam you give
      Yes, this book is enough. Just finish the book and go give simulation exams and you are ready for exam!

    Actually I was really confused about the order in which I should choose and appear for the exams and your blog really proven the ultimate solution and now I dont have to search anymore info on net. 🙂

    I really like your message that firstly prepare from books for knowledge and then dumps for rocking score. 😉

    I am new to .net and thinking for certification MCTS 70-536.

    Is there is any need of studying any book before certificatin books?
    Honestly I have not studied any book yet 😛
    Which book should I read first?
    and what all books I have to read for this?

    I have 1 year of working experience in .Net. Now I am planning to give 70-528? Is it ok if I do have only 1 year of experience in asp.net. I am strong in the concepts of asp.net web application but not feeling really strong in coding. Can i give this exam based on my previous knowledge and experience. I really want to become a good asp.net developer. I will really appreciate your suggestion.

    Congratulation for Certification!!!
    I have 1 year of experience in asp.net. I am planning to give MCTS 70-528 directly. After working on .Net for 1 year still not feeling comfortable in programming but have confidence on the asp.net concepts. Can I give this exam on my previous experience.     Actually I have not yet studied an book of C# and ASP.net :-P.
    If my experience concern it is just of 3 month 😦 in coaching class which I have completed recently..

      Yes — You can you just need to make your mind that you need to certified — And start preparing.

      For basic .NET fw understanding — 70-536 book is there.
      For ASP.NET basic concepts – 70-528 book is there.

      Search for this book on 4shared.com or google.com. If you can’get it from there let me know I will forward you[Just a note : I can forward you now but I don’t want to do spoon feeding :)]

    Hi Kiran,
    I have completed my 70-528 exam on Jan 4th 2011 successfully. This is my first Microsoft certification. I got an professional id & I can access the mcp website too. But, I can’t able to download my Logo. I can view my official transcript only in transcript sharing tool. There I’m not able to download it. Once I click the download transcript link, it shows an error msg like “sorry, we can’t accept you as a member of mcp”. Can you please tell me the step by step Procedure for downloading my Certification logo. Thanks in advance.

        I have Contacted the Microsoft Regional Service Center. They replied as “I should take the pre-requisite exam (70-536) in order to obtain MCTS certification. Since, I’m an MCP now its not possible for me to download my certificate”.

        So, Let me finish that too. If you have any study materials and dumps for the 70- 536 exam please send me to arunabarani@yahoo.com. It would be greatful then.
